HVAC Quick Fixes | AA Temperature Services Florida

Is your HVAC system not turning on? Or are you experiencing little to no air flow from your vents? There are a few things that you can try that may get your system back up and functioning quickly, until you can have one of our professional techs out for service.

Quick Fix #1: Check your air filter

One thing you can try is to change out your air filter. A dirty filter can cause your system and its main components to work harder than it needs to. It’s important to make sure that the filter is changed every month. A helpful tip is to hold the filter towards a light, or shine a flashlight through it. If you can’t see any light coming through the filter – it’s time for a filter change. The best type of filter for you and your home may vary, but we generally recommend a basic pleated filter and monthly change-outs.

Quick Fix #2: New batteries in thermostat

We all have super busy lives, and sometimes it’s easy to forget things like this. If your  heating and cooling system is not behaving properly, not kicking on, or is not keeping the correct temperature – we recommend you check your thermostat. If your thermostat batteries are very low or non-functional, this could be the problem! If you have replaced the batteries and you are still experiencing issues, we recommend you give us a call at 941-766-0975 for service.

Preventing issues with routine maintenance

When was the last time you had routine maintenance on your air conditioning unit? Just like a car and most major appliances, it’s important to have someone come out and check over the main components of the unit to ensure the system isn’t in need of major repairs. We perform a multi-point check of your HVAC units including checking electrical components, to ensure your system is ready to keep you cool all year long.
